Abita Springs Golf & Country Club, previously named Hillcrest Country Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Abita Springs, Louisiana.
The course opened in 1970.
This links-style course had 1,000 acres of unspoiled land on which to be positioned. Even with all this land to work with, the fairways are narrow, requiring straight drives off the tees. The layout has 10 ponds and several ditches that come into play on almost every hole. Both the tees and the greens are elevated. Some of the greens are undulating.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,427 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,645 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 550 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 140 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 5, the 550-yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Abita Springs Golf Course is # 17, a 320 yard par-4. Hit a good tee shot on this hole and you will have a good chance of making birdie.

Greens putted really slow, but may have been because of spring conditions
